A homemade face toner is such a fresh relief in summer which takes care of your beauty needs in an effective and an inexpensive way. Toner might not be a first preference for most of you, but it’s a must have in your beauty routine, especially if you’re dealing with oily and acne prone skin with large pores. A perfect toner that suits your skin best should immediately land up in your beauty vanity, as it not only helps to remove excess oil, but also removes any leftover buildup of dirt and impurities that gets accumulated on your skin.  It helps shrink the pores and restores the pH balance of your skin. The best part is that, the toners are very versatile and extremely simple to make. So, with that thought in mind, I decided to make easy Homemade skin toners for different skin types & skin issues.

  1. Rice Water Toner
  2. Cucumber Toner
  3. Potato juice Toner
  4. Rose water Toner
  5. Green Tea Toner

1. Rice Water Toner

Rice Water Toner

You will Need:

  • 1/2 cup rice
  • water

How to make and use:

  • Rinse the rice thoroughly by changing the water 2 – 3 times to remove any dirt or impurities.
  • Then, place 1/2 cup of washed rice in a bowl and pour water over the rice. Soak them for 30 – 45 minutes.
  • Strain the rice water into a clean spray bottle. Spray the rice water on your face after cleansing with a mild cleanser.

  • Rice water helps to minimize the appearance of pores and tighten skin.
  • It helps heal acne and cools the redness of an outbreak.
  • It helps you achieve clear Porcelain skin by diminishing dark spots and blemishes.

2. Cucumber Toner

You will Need:

  • 1 Cucumber
  • 1 cup of Water

How to make and use:

  • Take a fresh cucumber and chop it up into small pieces. Blend the cucumber and water.
  • Filter the juice out using a sieve. Store it in a spray bottle and let it chill in refrigerator for some time.
  • Apply chilled cucumber toner onto your face using a cotton pad.

You will Need:

  • 1 medium size Potato
  • 1 cup of Water

How to make and use:

  • Take a fresh Potato and chop it up into small pieces. Blend the Potato and water.
  • Filter the juice out using a sieve.
  • Apply this toner onto your face using a cotton pad.

  • Potato juice makes your skin clear by remove dark spots and blemishes, prevents aging and helps to correct uneven skin tone.
  • It reduces wrinkles by increasing the skin elasticity.
  • Use it daily to treat dark spots and hyper pigmentation.

4. Rose Water toner

You will Need:

  • Fresh Rose petals
  • Water

How to make and use:

  • Wash rose petals thoroughly to remove any dirt particles and residue. Place the rose petals in a stainless-steel pot and pour distilled water over the petals. Add just enough water to cover the petals.
  • Heat the water on a low flame and cover the pot with a lid. Allow the water to steam until the petals have lost their color and the water has taken on the color of rose petals.
  • Turn off the flame. Let it cool down. Strain the water and store it in a spray bottle for easy use.
  • It is suggested to be kept in a refrigerator for longer use. Spray chilled rose water on your face, two to three times in a day.

  • It is amazing for sensitive skin because it won’t dry it out.
  • Using chilled rose water keeps your skin cool, imparting elasticity in your skin texture and prevents it from acne breakouts.

5. Green Tea Toner

5. Green Tea Toner

You will Need:

  • Green tea leaves (1 bag)
  • 1 cup of water
  • Rose water (1 tbsp.)
  • Lemon Essential oil

How to make and use:

  • Pour 1 cup of water in a small pan. Bring it to boil on a low flame.
  • Add green tea leaves. Let it brew for couple of minutes.
  • Turn off the flame when the water takes up the color of green tea. Cover the pan with a top and let it cool down.
  • Pour the tea in a glass bowl. Mix in the remaining ingredients i.e. 1 tablespoon of Rose water and few drops of lemon essential oil. The green tea toner is ready.
  • Transfer the concoction into a spray bottle and shake well before use. Store it in a refrigerator so that it can last for up to 1 week.
  • Spray chilled green tea toner all over your face and neck. Use it daily. If you have oily acne prone skin, use this toner several times in a day.
5. Green Tea Toner

Benefits:

  • Green tea toner tightens the enlarged pores and soaks up the excess sebum giving your skin a more toned look.
  • It helps in balancing the ph level of your skin and keeps your skin acne free.
