A good skincare routine is essential no matter what your skin type is or what your age is. Similarly, a good skincare ingredient is essential. Aloe vera is one of the most beneficial natural ingredients that one can invest in for healthy skin. The benefits of aloe for skin and hair are so beneficial that it has been considered a staple in skin care products all over the world. The Aloe vera gel helps us deal with pigmentation, dark spots, blemishes, uneven skin tone, acne, dry skin, and many more. While there are a lot of commercially available aloe vera gel-based products, the best way to get maximum benefit is to make them at home and use it organic. Here I will show you homemade Aloevera gel and how you can use it in DIY face packs for flawless-looking skin.

Homemade Aloevera Gel

Ingredients

  • 5-6 Fresh Aloevera Leaves
  • Glycerin – 2 tablespoons
  • Guar gum powder – 1 teaspoon (to thicken aloevera gel)
  • Tea tree oil (acts as a preservative)
  • A sharp knife (to slice thorny edges)
  • Wooden Spoon (to scoop out gel)
  • Food processor or a blender
  • Clean container

How to make Homemade Aloevera Gel ?

  • Gather all the above-mentioned ingredients. Now choose plumpy, thick, and fresh 5-6 aloe vera leaves that are mature and healthy.
  • Thoroughly wash the leaves under running water to remove dirt or impurities on the surface of the leaves.
  • Slice up the thorny edges of the leaves and cut them from the middle vertically to extract the gel.
  • Use a wooden spoon to scoop out the gel smoothly.
  • Gather all the extracted gel in a food processor and blend until you get a smooth consistency with no lumps. Strain the gel using a fine mesh sieve.
  • Now, transfer this gel to a clean container and add 2 tablespoons of glycerine. Add in 1 teaspoon of guar gum powder and 5 – 6 drops of tea tree essential oil. Mix it properly and cover the gel. Leave it for 7 – 8 hours.
  • After 8 hours, your thick clear aloe vera gel is ready to use. Store the gel in the refrigerator for daily use. Tea tree essential oil acts as a preservative which will help the gel to last for up to a month.
  • Guar gum powder is used to bind and thicken the gel (just like market-based gel).

Use of Homemade Aloevera Gel

  • You can use aloe vera gel directly on your skin as a moisturizer, on skin burns, to treat uneven skin tone, for dry skin during winters, or otherwise.
  • Apply it directly on your acne, pimples, and breakouts to treat them. Use it on your stretch marks and scars.  Aloe vera gel is highly effective in healing scars by encouraging collagen formation.

Aloe vera gel and Yogurt

  • This is the best combo for parched, cracked, and dry skin as it needs intense moisturization to look radiant.  Mix a tablespoon of aloe vera gel with a tablespoon of yogurt. Blend well and apply it all over your face. After 20 minutes, rinse off with plain water and your skin will feel well-hydrated immediately.

Turmeric and Aloe vera

  • Natural Aloe vera turmeric face pack to bring out that beautiful radiance of your skin. Prepare a smooth paste of 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel and 1⁄2 teaspoon of turmeric. Spread it over your face and rinse off after 20 minutes. This paste can work wonderfully for brighter and tan-free skin.
