Homemade Apple Cider Vinegar Gel for Acne, Pimples and Blemishes

Acne and pimples have been one problem which all of us have been facing for a very long time. Many natural beauty remedies have evolved to combat this problem. One such beauty ingredient is apple cider vinegar. Apart from being widely used in the kitchen, apple cider vinegar has found its way in our beauty closets. Its topical application is used for a wide range of skin, scalp and hair issues. The natural properties of this vinegar are the reason for its popularity. Today we’ll see how we can use apple cider vinegar and reap maximum benefits from it.

DIY Apple Cider Vinegar Gel

You will need:

  • Apple cider vinegar- 1 teaspoon
  • Aloe vera gel- 3 teaspoons
  • 3 – 4 drops of Peppermint essential oil

How to make and use Apple Cider Vinegar Gel:

  • Mix 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with 3 teaspoons of aloe vera gel. Add 3-4 drops of peppermint essential oil to it and mix them well.
  • Store this gel in an air-tight container and place it in the refrigerator.
  • Apply this gel all over your face and leave it on overnight. Next morning, wash your face with cold water.
  • Use this gel daily for maximum benefits.
  • You can store this gel in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Benefits of Apple cider vinegar for Skin:

1. To treat acne:

Due to the concentration of various organic acids, apple cider vinegar has antimicrobial properties. The acetic acid present in large amounts is known to be effective in killing as well as inhibiting bacterial growth. Daily usage of apple cider vinegar can help with acne breakouts.

2. Get rid of dead skin:

Malic acid, a component of apple cider vinegar is a  natural chemical exfoliator. It helps in removing the outermost layer of skin containing dead skin cells. This gives a bright look to your skin and adds an instant glow.

3. Fight Wrinkles and remove age spots:

Apple cider vinegar has polyphenolic antioxidants which help in improving the blood circulation of the skin. This, in turn, helps to reduce age spots. The use of vinegar helps in tightening the skin cells which strengthens the skin tissues and prevent wrinkle formation.

The astringent properties of apple cider vinegar help in minimizing the large pores. It also regulates the pH level of the skin, which can help in removing the dirt from clogged pores.
