Coronavirus Precaution – How to protect yourself from Coronavirus disease?

by Nikita

We are all aware of how coronavirus has hit a large part of the world and is increasing day by day. It becomes our first priority to take care of and protect ourselves from such a virus. When an infected person sneezes or coughs, they release droplets of saliva or mucus. These droplets can fall on people in the surrounding area and can be either directly or indirectly transferred when someone touches their face, causing infection. It becomes necessary to take coronavirus precautions to avoid the spreading of this virus.

Here are some Coronavirus precautions and habits to follow to protect ourselves:

1. Wash your hands frequently:

Wet your hands with clean, running water and hand wash. Now lather your hands, including the backs, between your fingers, and under your nails. Keep your nails short. Scrub for at least 15 seconds and rinse.

2. Maintain social distance and avoid public gatherings:

You should maintain at least 1 meter which is 3 feet distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

3. Avoid touching your nose, eyes, and mouth:

Since coronavirus can spread from contact with infected surfaces, so when your hands touch many surfaces it can pick up viruses easily, and transfer those viruses to your nose, eyes or mouth. And from there they can enter your body.

4. Wear a facemask if you are sick:

You should cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, and then throw the tissue in the bin and immediately wash your hands. In case you do not have a tissue to hand, always cough or sneeze into your elbow rather than your hands.

Use good quality face mask whenever you go out in public. Cover nose and mouth with the mask in such a way that there are no gaps between your face and the mask.

5. Seek early medical help:

You should seek early medical help if you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing. Also, share your travel history with healthcare providers.

6. Stay home if you are unwell or sick. Avoid going out in public.

If you have returned from an affected area in the last two weeks, stay indoors and avoid contact with other people for 15 days. This means avoiding going to work, school or public places.

If you have returned from an infected area (china, Italy Iran…) and develop a high temperature, cough, runny nose, sore throat or difficulty in breathing, do not leave your house until you have been given advice by a doctor.

7. Eat fresh veggies:

Avoid eating raw and uncooked meat. Eat more green vegetables and fruits instead of meat. Wash your vegetables 2-3 times before cooking them.

8. Drink Tulsi tea:

Drink Tulsi, honey, and turmeric. The combination aids digestion by stimulating the flow of bile and also has anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal properties that help protect you from cough and cold. It keeps you safe from seasonal fever and flu. Have it warm for effective results.

9. Keep your house and surroundings clean.

Quick Tips:

  • Avoid any close contact with people who are sick.
  • Refrain from frequently touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay at home when you are unwell or sick.
  • Always cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, and then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean, wash and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

Follow all these guidelines and take necessary coronavirus precautions.
